Anjan’s focus practice areas are banking, finance, public private partnerships and project development. Over the previous decade and a half, Anjan has advised clients on projects and transactions across a range of industries including energy, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, air and sea ports, telecommunications, agribusiness and healthcare. He has also provided legal counsel to clients on projects regarding clean technology and sustainable development. Anjan is working on some of the largest infrastructure PPP projects in the world.


Some of Anjan’s notable experience involves acting for export credit agencies and multilateral institutions such as International Finance Corporation (the World Bank Group), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). In addition to these, he has closely worked with major corporations, equity investors, banks and financial institutions, governments and other public bodies, and commercial organizations.


Anjan has been recommended by Legal 500 for banking and finance and projects and energy practices in India for three consecutive years. Chambers Global and Chambers Asia Pacific 2016 has ranked Anjan for Projects and Infrastructure and Chambers Asia Pacific 2015 has recognized him as a notable practitioner for Banking and Finance practice in India. ASIALAW PROFILES 2014 (a Euromoney publication) and IFLR 1000 have listed him as a recommended lawyer for banking, infrastructure, projects and project finance transactions in India. Who is Who Legal 2015 has recommended Anjan for Project Finance practice in India. Anjan has consistently been recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers Asia Pacific for his TMT practice. He also regularly writes and speaks at public fora and has been a visiting faculty in various law schools.


Anjan has considerable international experience having worked with distinguished international legal firms in London and Toronto. He holds an LL.M from Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, where he has also been associated with The Centre of Innovation Law and Policy. He is a dual qualified lawyer, admitted as an Advocate in India and a solicitor (currently, non-practicing) in England & Wales.
